My festy will be here on the 29th but the current owner has stickers all over the paint . Does anyone have any good ideas on how best to remove them? I have a heat gun but Im afraid it will mess up the paint. Can goof off or something like that be used on paint? Ive used it on crome but never on paint. WD40 mabye?

Use the heat gun on low or a hair dryer. Just get it a little warm...not hot. Then peel it off. If anything is left behind I find windex and a paper towel works well to remove it.www.dantheoilman.com

Windex? Ammonia won't cut most acrylic adhesives. WD40 wont hurt the pait, as long as you remove it right away. 3M makes a chemical adhesive remover thats safe for most paints. It available at auto supply stores (not the national chain places) or an automotive paint supplier/store.Jim DeAngelis

for REALLY tough stickers and ugly pinstripe, you can buy a pinstripe eraser ( which looks and feels like a 3" x 3/4" round eraser) wheel. you can mount it on a air die grinder or a drill ( i have it on a cordless drill). you can buy it through mobile tool salesmen like snap-on or any automotive paint supplier.

Real citrus wipes, after you have warmed and peeled the stickers are the best things I have ever used. Armorall makes some pretty good ones. Takes the adhesive residue right off.
