Help! Can't remove signal lamp connector.

My left front turn signal lamp needs replacement. I bought a new one. But when I tried to remove the connector. It would not budge. Does anybody have a suggestion on how to remove it.

Sounds like it's pretty corroded in there. Will it push in any at all? They should push in and twist to come out. If it's solid you can snap off the bulb glass and use needle nose to grab one side of the socket of the bulb and twist. Usually it will come out in pieces..

It's the plastic connector that connect the wires that won't come out not the bulb. There was no bulb connector inside the lamp housing that is why I am replacing the whole thing.

oh.. lols.. it weaves through the bumper.. yes it's a pita to get out. When I replaced my whole lamp housing, I cut the wires close to the old housing and backfed them out of the bumper. Disconnected it at the plug and then fished the new one through the front of the bumper and reconnected.

all i can say is pry on it the best you can to try and separate the connectors

I've had that plug get hung in the bumper before and it IS a pain, especially with the FMS bumper.

i've replaced my bumper cause the original one on it was pushed in from an accident (not me, previous owner) i couldn't get the one connector out of the bumper because of it being bent, all in all i had a hell of a time getting the signals hooked up again

It may be easier if you attach string to the old wires before you pull them out. Then attach the new wire to the string and pull the new wires thru.

I was able to get the connector separated by using a long nose plier to lift the hinge. Then I removed the signal lamp housing beside the headlamps. Finally fished the new cable thru the hole used by the signal lamp cable wiring.

It's no big deal but it was a start for me. Hope this helps somebody who might find themselves in a similar situation. I was just glad I did not have to remove the headlamp.
