fuel pressure testing???

  • fuel pressure testing???

    where on the fuel rail can you insert a fuel pressure tester? i have a sneeking suspition that i have low pressure in my g/fs aspire and the factory manuals don't list a diag procedure, or location to test.

    any ideas?

    Follow the line from the filter to the fuel rail. That's the high side.

    The other line is the low side.

      what i was actually asking was: Is there a shrader valve that i can tap into for testing like there is on 90% of the FI cars out there or is there a special procedure/tools needed to test.

      found my answer while at work: Just like darkdan said "t" into the high side... now all i need is a gauge that can read that pressure.

        Glad I could help.

        Luckily the guage I bought at NAPA had some fittings and some extra hose in it. I think I had to buy one barbed fitting though IIRC.
