  • Aspire Trans Mount Issue

95 Aspire 5 spd, bought because it needed motor/trans mount.(front of engine compartment) Got new mount, thought it was wrong part, went to junkyard, looked at several Aspires,It is correct part.Problem is it will not fit on car. When bolted to crossmember,it is too far to the drivers side, does not line up with holes on trans.I do not know history of car, does not appear to be a salvage(Carfax).Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Look at the motor mount on the passenger side of the car where it attaches to the block. There should be 3 studs with nuts holding it to a bracket on the block. Take one of the nuts off and see if the holes are much too big for the size of the stud. If the holes are much bigger, loosen all 3 nuts and try to pry your engine around to where you can get the transmission mount installed. Once you have the transmission mount installed and tight, then re-tighten the 3 nuts on the passenger mount.
    You gonna race that thing?
