  • Overheating?

Just had my water pump, radiator, timing belt and a tune up done on my 90 Festiva. Water pump? Yes, because it was leaking. Timing belt? While your there might as well do it also, don't know when it was done last.
Here's my question. After having all this done it seems to be getting hotter then it used to, if the temp. gauge was fuel guage it would be 3/4 full. Took it back to the mechanic, he removed the radiator cap and it didn't seem to be that hot, inotherwords the cap didn't fly off or have a lot of pressure build up in the radiator. The fan is coming on and the thermostat is opening. Everything seems to working normal, but it just gets hotter, gauge wise, then it used to. Should I worry about this or not?
Any reply would be greatly appreciated.
    thanx John

    not over heating?

If its not over heating, then dont worry about it at all. I mean it might run hotter, but your mechanic doesn't see anything wrong, then don't worry, if it starts getting in the red, then shut it off, don't try and keep going, you will blow your head gasket.

      Overheating

Wow! That was quick....thanks for the reply.
That's what I thought....I was just checking in to see if I should worry about it or not. It still runs in the normal range, gauge wise. I'll keep and eye on it and if it goes out of the normal range and in the red then I'll shut it off.
      Thanx again, John

If you are really concerned get a mechanical gauge, this will tell what the actual temp. is
