I have several times , BUT I do not recommend it , and some may not believe it .

First 2 sets of rotors were junk , I actually beat them with a small sledge ,(hammer handle with a sledge head) , from the back side ,I kept turning the rotor as I knocked it off , I put the new one on and tightened it down , The last set has been on there for over a year and a half , never had any problems , no noise , the car is very quiet on the road.

I won't lie to you , the rotor was worth nothing when I got done with it .

I took out a lot of aggression out on it

Yes I forgot , once I got it off , you need to remove the bolts that hold the rotor onto the hub that the wheel bolts to.

Then bolt the new rotor on the hub .

Again I do not recommend this after knowing more about these cars , I am use to the GM. cars , take the wheel off and the rotor comes off .

When I tied into the Festiva , I just kept working until it came apart

if your old rotor just needs resurfacing, some auto parts/machine shops with the right machine can do it without removing the rotor. just have to take the whole knuckle/rotor/dustshield down to them. of course if you get to that point it's probably only a couple more bucks to have them press out the old rotor anyway.

                    ^^ Thats a good idea .

When I worked at a dealership in the 80's , we had a machine that bolted to the car , start the car ,put it in gear , and it turned the rotors on the car , never had to remove anything

It was mainly for FWD Nissan's

I took one off the same way packrat did....lol...but I reused the same rotor. Was not thinking at the time....and forgot from previous years how I had to remove the whole hub.
BUT!!!!...since you are in need of new rotors....just go and get what you need for the aspire swap and go for it...lol!

Darn, I better tell my wife to stop driving her car because I couldn't have replaced them with out removing the hub.

I used a slide hammer! 2-3 whacks and it was off!
Expensive, but a slick tool for this kind of stuff!
She's been driving it for about 7 years now and no issues.
I still agree with Pack, this is not a recommended procedure, just because we can doesn't mean we should! Later I learned about the correct procedure.

The last time I did mine I took the knuckle out, removed the disc myself, but I had a machine shop press the new disc on. -- ?With the knuckle off the car how could you put the discs on without a press? -- I want to save the machine shop fees this time

The front wheel hubs have been discussed before along with home made ways of pulling them. Unfortunately I can't find the right words to put in the FF.com website search to pull the articles out of the archive. Figure out the right work(s) to use and they should pop up.
