Been having some problems with my tiva. Was wondering what the fusible links purpose was. Been having some startup issues.

They are just big fuses, and they do seem to cause problems fairly often. The issue is that the connectors on their ends corrode & loosen up, making for an intermittant connection. That's all that was wrong with my blue car when I got it (the guy was going to junk it because it ran so bad) Wiggle them and see if they are loose. If so, pull them out and try crimping the connector tighter with pliers then re-connecting. Some contact cleaner would be good too. If the ends are loose and/or they don't fit tight in the block, replace them with fuses like these: http://www.fordfestiva.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11721

Looks like bad alternator!
Still could be bad battery!
Had a 1 month new battery die on me!
Can usually have them checked for free at any McParts store (Autozone,Advance,carquest, etc)

Start it up and pull the battery cable while its running. If the car dies it probably the atl.sigpic
