i dont know what theyre called but the things inside the door with the little cables are broken in the new festiva i just bought. the cables are broken. i havent really had the time to look at it but i was wondering how exactly are they changed out? would it be easier to just get 2 new doors from the junkyard?

Pretty simple to do. It helps if you have a friend to hold the glass while you bolt everything together.
The guys at Les Schwab busted one of my regulators, and said that the work done on my wheels was "under warranty" and free, hoping that I would overlook the window...White '89L auto - Sold!

i cant quite remember but i dbout you can just replace the cables. You almost for sure have to replace the whole regulator. Much easier this way anyways. and its not like there that expensive. I can get them from my j/y for $12 apiece89SX funtop! Fully loaded!

They are cable driven...just changed mine with the one I won at Ohiostiva...about a 10 minute job, and I was by myself. Take off the door panel...3 nuts holding the handle in place,,,then there are 3 holding the rest of the mechanism in...and then 2 bolts holding the window to it. Really simple quick change."FLTG4LIFE" @FINALLEVEL , "PBH"
