  • Starts to sputter but only in the Rain..?

    I have a 1993 L.
Car runs great, but as soon as it rains it starts to sputter, almost dies out when im stopped at a light, and then it wont accelerate no matter how much you stomp on it.

    What gives..?

    Any help/suggestions..?

Or possibly old/bad spark plug wires!
If wires, it will get worst in high humidity environments!
Might not even start if it has been sitting and it has rained.

^^yep...you could spray wire dryer on it first...on the cap and plug wires....see if it helps...if so...they need replaced....but either way most likely the problem.

Plugs wires or cap. One or more is your problem.

Try wiping the ignition wires and distributor cap with a clean dry rag. I do it a couple of times a year. Did it a couple weeks ago just before taking the car for its biennial emissions test.

new wires dist. cap and rotor should solve the problem, and might as well change the plugs since you'd be that far into it anyway
