  • Snapped bolt to A/C Belt tensioner

When I was in a jam to replace a tossed alt/WP belt I snapped the tensioner adjustment bolt when trying to loosen the A/C belt. Ended up just cutting the damn belt off. The bolt was really rusted and just seized, snapping right in half. There is still about a 1-1/2" piece of threaded bolt left in the tensioner adjuster. Can that bolt be replaced??? I drive my aspire everyday 1hr to work so A/C would be nice for those hot days ahead of me.

You should be able to remove the bracket and drill out the bolt.

I was thinking of removing it and somehow getting that stud out. Guess it's the only way to go. I just do not want to screw up the adjuster itself so I'll be careful with it.

        Thanks Brian.
