    Automatic transmission

Symptoms: Car goes into first gear very well. usually never shifts into second gear. Goes up to red line without shifting. 10% of the time, the car shifts hard into 2nd gear. there is a substantial jolt. Then the car goes back to first gear quickly.

whats wrong? what should I look at? what should I replace?

Most of the time mine will never shift into 2nd gear. It never gets to third gear. Top speed is about 20mph.

Have you check/change the filter and fluid?

speed sencor or detent cable out adj? Dont know what controls this, and maybe try cleaning the valve body.

                no upshift

check your modulator... in front of the car between tranny and engine , lower but just over the tranny oil pan. you have a vaccum hose plugged on it, check if you have vaccum on park at idle... if not you have a leak between you intake manifold and the modulator... if you have oil inside the hose... your modulatoe is dead...also check the switch under accelerator pedal, you must listen a click when the pedal is floored.

                good luck
