  • 1988 Festiva, no brake lights, help, please?

My '88 Festiva's brake lights are not working. The fuses are good, changed the bulbs, just in case. Does anybody have any ideas? It's my only car, and I really don't want to get rear-ended. Thanks much.

If you had a test light it would make things a lot easier. If not, rig up a bulb and a couple pieces of wire, and get someone to hold down the brakes, this will at least let you see if there is power to the bulbs. Just remember to use a good ground, because if you have no lights normally, but the test light or the rig lights up, well, it's a bad ground.

      Thanks

Thanks for the attempt at helping with my brake light trouble. It was the switch up above the brake, under the dash. It's fixed and I'm back on the road.
