Headlight Highbeams Burning Out

I have a 1990 Festiva
The Highbeam filaments both burnout after about 3 or four days and the lowbeam filaments continue to work.
Am I extermly unlucky or is there an explanation for this problem?
Any help would be appreciated.

Do you run your high beams that much ??

Please tell me just what kind of bulb you are using ..Re brand and wattage.
