  • Running rich/Temp. Sensor?

I've been tracking down a problem with my B6 swap, and I think I've narrowed it down to a bad coolant temp. sensor. So, what I'm wondering is which of the 3 CT sensors on the B6 is the one that sends signal to the computer? (one on the head, one on the thermostat housing, one on the intake manifold?)

Don't know if this other thing might be the problem, but when I swapped the engines I had to use the Festy temp sensor that mounts in the head, near the thermostat housing. Anyone know the specs of the B3 vs. the B6 sensor at that location?

    Thanks,
    Jim

That's kind of what I was thinking. I flipped through some wiring diagrams earlier tonight, as well, and think I found it there. Now I've got to figure out the specs on it, probe it, and maybe replace it.

One of the odd symptoms I've dealt with already was a ridiculously hight warm idle. I turned the idle air screw WAY down to get it idling where it should, but I don't think I should have had to turn it down that much. What I'm thinking is that the sensor may be faulty, and is sending a cold signal to the ECM, which is compensating by dumping fuel. You'd figure the 02 sensor would have something to say about this, but it's been ignoring the situation thus far.
