location of fast idle screw help

  • location of fast idle screw help

    on cold startup, i depress pedel, turn key and engine races till warm up,
    at what rpm should the fast idle be set, and where might the adj screw be located on carb to adjust, checked haynes and of course no diagram......thanks :idea:

    If you are facing the engine bay, the screw is to the left-rear of the carb. Mine is kind of an off white, plastic screw. It is large enough that you don't need a screw driver, it can be turned by hand. If you have your haynes, then I guess you already know what rpms to set it to. Hope this helps.

      i thought that big white plastic thumb screw was the idle screw, figured the fast idle to be smaller.

        Oh, sorry, should have read your question a little closer.
        Again, looking at the carb from in front of the car, to the right of the car, flat head screw, pain in the butt to get to. Not alot of room to maneuver.
