five holes in my valve cover?

just a question, does the valve cover supposed to have open holes?
About where the air horn points to fender, there are five threaded holes (they are the same size hole that the air box bracket hold down bolt is)
should they be open or should i buy some bolts to plug them up? :?:

Same here on my 88 L carbed. They do not go all the way through the cover, tho. Not sure if they might be used on FI models. Noticed them a long time ago, figured out they didn't go anywhere, and kinda forgot about them. So, guess what I'm saying is I don't think there's any need to plug them. :wink:

they are for fuel injected models.....the bracket that holds the intake tubing secure, and there is another one on the right side for the throttle cable

Wild guesses sometimes pay off!! Only reason I wasn't sure of that is that FI wasn't even an option in 88. :idea:

This is about the only picture i could find that shows the standard efi rocker cover. As far as i know, the carb and efi rocker covers are the same in 1300cc
right up to 2000 aussie festiva. The covers vary a little with the 1500, and the 16v headed 1500- but very similar. Hope it helps....


I ended up filling all the holes after the throttle was moved to the side, so in saying that- you could cover them in if you don't like them??

I was thinking the same thing... Why would they tap 5 holes in the valve cover before FI was going to be introduced? Seems odd...
