cracked exhaust

welp my exhaust is cracked and on both sides of the first bend, i have a exhaust repair kit in my garage from when i was gonna use it on my gremlin but i got that fixed.

its like a cloth tape and has a jar of some type of resin in it.

just wondering, anyone ever used something like that? the shop that took a look at it wanted 40 bucks to weld it up.

Might work temporary. Put a want add for a pipe in th FS section, should be able to get a used one for less than $40.

it will work for a while on a muffler.its only a temporary repair option.if you are talking about the exhaust manifold,i would not even attemp it myself. replace the manifold or weld it.

well its not the manifold, its the downpipe, its right at the top of the first bend.


i think ill give that a try tomorrow when i get up. if i can find it lol.

yep and thanks for posting that, ill keep it in mind. ima take the car to another shop to see what they will charge to weld it up to get an avg est.

as i think 40 is a bit high to weld up some cracks lol

$40 is too high, I'd say about half that.
