  • My son's first movie attempt

So, my 13 year old (just turned) asked me if he could use my camera yesterday..

I reluctantly said yes... he doesn't have the best track record of taking good care of my stuff.... lol..

It's just a little Olympus digital still camera that will take short movie clips..

Then, he came home and wanted to know if I had any software for making a movie.. I told him that XP had a built in movie maker...

About three hours later, he showed me this... I was pretty impressed for a first try....

He wants to make more... let's see if he sticks with it..

He did all the camera and editiing work all on his own..

it's rough, but hey, I still thought it was pretty good.

tonight, he is working on editing it some more, and letting some of the sound be heard.... he only wanted clips of sound, as I guess the boys were cussing, and he didn't want me to hear it.... LOL...

Let me know what you think... and PLEASE leave some positive comments to encourage him!!!

My 13 year old's first movie.. not too bad for a first effort.. let's see if he keeps it up.. (My boy is the cameraman, Video Editor)

Might not be quite ready yet, but it will be processed pretty soon

I'm in 30 seconds so far. Doesn't the Jackass movies say "Do not attempt these stunts, we're professionals and you'll probably hurt or kill yourself"?

Besides that small piece. It's pretty decent editing, especially for a first attempt at things?

One minor piece I'd add would be to watch the names in the credits. Not sure if they are real names or not... But if someone would find that and push a vandalism offense (knocking down someones sign, damaging their bushes, etc) I'd hate it to be as easy as reading the credits to catch them.

Kind of hard on the shrubbery. It was better than my first movie. I did have less injuries though.

Nice song, and like the way both times it says "drain the pressure from the swelling", it is showing that one kid hurting his knee....

And yeah, reminds me of jackass

That's not bad for a first attempt. I know if I tried it wouldn't come out that good. That one guy's mom is going to kill him for tearing up his jeans like that, at least my mom would have if I was 13 and did that.

Ha-Ha, yeah, I already yelled at them for the shrubbery.... told them they couldn't use the camera if they were going to destroy stuff...

I thought to myself that if that is all they were doing wrong, then I had better give thanks.. cause if he knew what I was doing when I was 13.... oh my, I don't even want to think about it!!
