AWESOME small car trailer. i wonder if these were actually made because i've never seen one.

The Shadow is a microsized camper designed to hook up to a roof mounted fifth wheel pivot. For more details, visit http://jalopnik.com/5167003/the-shadow-car...

That's pretty slick. Never seen a beetle with a hitch on the roof. But I'm betting there is a lot more structural support in that roof than in a Festy.

i allways joked about that my festiva could tow a big 53 foot truck trailer if you stuck a 5th wheel on the roof lol.... i just never thought of doing that... thats a very cool idea, i want one

Its not gonna work for a fetsy, the festy's center of gravity is low up front, so when the car turns the trailer pushes straight still... causeing a very easy flip unless your going 10 mph... I will get some stats to do some physics! But its very dangerous...

You could make a truckstiva and mount a 5th wheel hitch in the back.

                    Or you could do this.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05ru1l2gN88

That trailer is pretty neat, but like Falcon said, if someone were to turn to sharp the weight of the trailer would probably push the car right over

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

biger sway bars, better struts and spring and wider tires would help I think. That video was pretty dang cool though. Almost made me want to get a bug,almost...

pfft, i like the idea, cuz it's pretty sweet.

                          but, imo, beetles are ugly.

Now noone get mad at me, cuz this is just my opinion.

So, I did some physics and It yould take roughly 34mph to tip the festiva on 2 wheels (IF YOUR TOWING 1 TON TRAILER) Then the trailer needs to apply at least 45lbs of preasure to do the rolling... But you guys have fun driving like snails!!!!:laughing4:

34 mph @ what angle of attack? realistically, the trailer should be in the 1500 lb range (or less) if it's 'glass and aluminum. and suppose you lower the trailer's CG by taking away the upper level?
