  • Carp feeding frenzy

I took my wife, girls, and Mother-in-law to Smith Mountain Lake Monday. After a nice picnic, swim on a beach, and ice cream at a marina we saw this carp feeding frenzy. There were thousands of them some nearly 4 feet long. People feed them bread and popcorn there. They are conditioned. They followed me down the dock! Freaky! A bunch of mouths munching non-stop. Video at the end.

As many times as I have been to that lake, I have never been to the beach section where you were, Paul. That's a lot of carp.

That's what I'm saying! The only reason I didn't is because they are so slimy.

Wow. I've never seen anything like that. A couple of those pictures looked like footage from a bad b-movie horror flick.

It is kinda creepy like that in person. All the closing mouths and they are slow. And their eyes looks spooky too.

When I was little my folks took us to Pymatuning State Park in PA to see the carp. Pretty much the same kind of thing. It's said that the ducks walk on the top of the fish!
If it has boobs or wheels, sooner or later you're going to have trouble with it.
