  • Video from High School Auto Shop

Someone from my auto shop class added me as a friend on Facebook today, and I found this video on their page and reuploaded it to YouTube.

It was very cool to find it, since I knew it was being made but never saw the finished product, until now, almost 2 years later.

Too funny. Kind of amazed the kid with the torch didn't manage to set fire to the paint.

Thats actually cool that the High School was so involved with shop class, at my High School nothing ever got done, it was mainly a class that kids took so they could sit around all day, and the teacher always let kids watch non related automotive movies, sleep do whatever.

Ah yes, shop class. I have fond memories of mine. I learned how to braze, stick weld, use a metal lathe, and a bunch of other tools. Helped install a 100 cc motorcycle engine into a riding lawn mower. Saw another student 2 years my senior bang out a fender on a '37 Ford coupe in the morning class then painted it after school with laquer so it could dry quick. He fixed it for another student that brought it to school and it got crumpled in the parking lot. It was his dad's car and I don't think to this day he suspected anything. All of this happened 30+ years ago. Today the shop class is now the "drama" room.

IMHO I think kids would be better off knowing how to at least do basic mechanical tasks vs. how to flipping "act". Just my 2¢.
