I concur with the new(er) country...although there is some really cool alternative country stuff coming out even now. It just doesn't get air play. Take Johnny Cash (RIP) as an example. He did some of his best work in the last decade or two, but because he shunned Nashville, he was relatively out of the spotlight. If you have satellite radio, listen to the "Outlaw" country station. Some awsome new stuff, along with the best of the old progressive country....back when drugs and alcohol were more prevalent.

Now then, in my opinion there is a distinction between hardcore and "noise" these guys do it right. There is a discernible beat and not just the same chords over and over. Give it a chance!!

And you can tell they know how to play their instruments, not just make it do loud things.
The beat is slow then fast, the singer is mild then pissed, drums and pronounced bass guitar work well. Ok enough blabbing if you dig hard stuff take a listen.
