My dog use to ram into the screen door for want of a squirrel. Id release him at opportune times but he only had two squirrels to his credit in his whole life. They're slippery and bite back ! Best that dog stayed in, probably get embarrassed .sigpic

There is a cat in the neighborhood, must weigh close to 20 lbs, and is one mean, squirrel eating machine!
I watched it for 20 minutes, stalk and corner a squirrel under a car. It would wait until the squirrel would make a break for it, and then do its cat pounce thing and take out the squirrel, like a lion, by grabbing it by the neck. Cats are beastly predators. Fast, coordinated, and sporting fierce weapons.
And yes the whippet is crazy fast. Easy 35-40 mph. My sister has a huge yard for him to run in. It boggles the mind to see him open it up. Before I got the Red Doberman mix I have now, I almost adopted a Greyhound from a rescue. His name was Jeep! He was also a dog blood donar.
It seems Greyhounds have a neutral blood type and can give blood to a variety of dog blood types. Jeep was a cool dog and took to me right away.
