Working on that, it was either music or wind noise, the engine noise isn't any easier to hear without the music. I'm working with a ZOOM h4n to record and edit engine/car sounds for the next video. i found if i take a piece of foam and tape it over the mic on my cam it cuts down on wind noise alot... its still the same level of sound cause the cam just adjusts the volume level up a bit...

^ good tip! I'm going to try that too. I wish they had integrated a jack for an external Mic/ audio input. Just learned that the gopro hero2 hd has an external Mic input! I'm ordering three of them within the next month. That solves the biggest complaint with this video. It's just that from my experience with mics your go pro is doing it's job! It can't pick up anything other than what your giving it. Wind is LOUD at speed. I actually asked my sister-in-laws boyfriend. He has a new one. He said that some of them come with external mic inputs like you mentioned. I meant to say something and forgot. That is the ONLY way you are going to get a good sound. In the engine bay. It's going to be AWESOME!!
In related news my iphone 4s is taking HD video, I'm able to run a line in from the P.A., it's getting superb sound (and of course I'm a stickler), and with the imovie app I'm about to get I should be able to at least fade in and fade out. Complete music vids with my phone are right around the corner! 8)
