  • the situation

Just posted my latest recording. It was done at home. It is not a live loop. Instead I played bass, drums, and cigar box guitar. Then recorded 12 vocal parts. All one at a time on my multitrack digital recorder. It is the first song in the player on my bandmix profile. It's called "the situation" http://www.bandmix.com/neanderpaul/

Do you have some kind of a box to switch between inputs? On my RC-2 I have to save every loop then plug in something else and save it etc. No good for live performances. I usually have the drums and bass pre-recorded for live stuff, not as cool.

This song was multi tracked with my fostex digital 16 track.
My looping set-up is pretty involved. I had a diagrammed pic posted of my pedal board. My photobucket account got hacked and I lost everything.
I need to do that again as I get asked from time to time.

                              The setup is...
I have 3 mics on my 3 piece stand up drum kit. That runs into a very simple 3 channel mixer. That runs into my very old RC-20 looper. That dedicated drum looper, my bass, my wurlitzer electric piano, and my cigar box guitar (or 6 string) all go into a 4 channel mixer. That mixer runs into my Digitech jam man looper. There is an XLR input on the jam man as well for vocals.

It sounds involved but it's pretty simple if I point out each element. I think a video is in order for the breakdown.

I use a wireless set up for my CBG and my bass. It is out of necessity. Before I got wireless cables were a nightmare. Every time I picked up my bass and put it on I twisted it counterclockwise. And every time I took it of I twisted it... counterclockwise. After a while the cable had snarfed itself up and grabbed a couple of other cables with it.

In your case George a small 4 channel mixer would work great even for live performances. The RC-2 is a fine machine and handles the dynamics of multiple instruments with ease.

I'm still waiting to hear your music!
