You need to fill it with gas, you may not make it to 401,000.Unless you gauge is broken.

It's not mine. I posted a comment there about it. Festiva gas gauges commonly do not work. It is due to the float sensor. Most of them get down to a half a tank and then just drop off. It is a very easy repair to make.

Flip and fold the seat forward, pop carpet up, 4 bolts to remove cover, about 8 bolts to remove fuel pump/float sensor assembly, swap sensor for good. You can see if a used one is good by removing the small square metal cover on the sensor itself. When it drops from half a tank to empty half of the wires are broken. I believe JUST the sensor part can be sourced from all festys and aspires. And with the Philippines guys in action here we may have a source for new.

                Hi All,

                That Festiva is mine:

The reason the car sounds like it is falling apart in the video is because I was driving on a rock parking lot. [lol] Believe it or not, two days after that historic event, I hit another deer on the way to work. That makes 4 confirmed kills. One more and I'll be an Ace . Anywho, took out my radiator, caused me to overheat (unknowingly) and blew a head gasket. Since then, I have repaired everything and I've clocked another 1k or so.

I repaired that gas gauge several years ago. The way I did it was I bought a long spool of tungsten wire, spray painted it with an epoxy, and re-wrapped the rheostat till I got the correct ohms resistance, and reinstalled. It worked for several years and it still does unless it is very hot outside. Then for some reason, it does not read but I am able to see how much gas I have in the morning when it is cooler or in the winter lol. As you can tell by my pic, I am pretty lazy with the repairs.

Thanks for watching my video! So far, no thumbs downs yet

BTW, the pic in my avatar was taken the day it turned 300k. I even had a cake made. I'll see if I can dig up some pics.

Welcome aboard! Looks better than most vehicles on the road with 400k.. because there aren't many.

That fuel gauge fix actually sounds pretty promising.. mine is currently inactive.

I'd bet from experience that you have a burnt valve. I'm betting #2 cylinder?

I've burnt #2 exhaust valve twice in mine and my buddy has had to replace his #2 exhaust valve as well. My #2 piston has a chip in it now but still going with no noticeable lisp.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
