Every car I have owned has had a turbo in it, until I bought this latest festiva.. I plan to fix that though.

I know my chevette could cause that was my key.

Has anyone "modded" their ignition so the key can be removed while the cars running?

            I always do it.

i know on my festiva a screwdriver won't work. i have 3 keys. one that is for the original locks, one for my drivers side door, and another for the hatch. all from different cars. the keys are not interchangeable at least every time i've tried. definitely know that i can't start it with either of the other two. 2 of them look exactly the same so i've tried many times. pretty crazy how easy it is w/ a bump key to open pretty much any lock.
