She already said she does not like it , I drove about 100 miles today , hard to hear the radio , constant drone in the car :lol:

I can live with it , she says it hurts her ears ....

I will get her some ear plugs :lol:

I will make another vid of me driving , it sounds great when you are on the gas , steady is where it resonates .

I am looking at installing a resonator on my car to try to cut down the drone. It just arrived today!

I have lived here for over 21 years , same neighbors on both sides , they are use to it :lol: :lol:

Don't forget my Pro Street truck , it is louder than the Festiva

And my neighbors are hot rodders too , one has BBC Vette .

I am using the 60 series Flowmaster import muffler, and I LOVE it, EXCEPT, from 3200- to about 3600 rpm... I am getting a resonance/buzz that is driving me BATTY... just so happens that it is RIGHT FREAKING AT highway speed... well... legal highway speed that is... it is spot on perfect at 70-80 mph...

I have been driving mine every day... since I said it wasn't a good everyday driver, I guess I proved myself wrong.. I swear, if I could get that buzz out of the exhaust, I would not even think of selling it. Such fun to drive with the extra umph of the B6... not a speed demon, but still double the stock ponies to the tires. falling in love again.... lol...


I wonder if it is the hollow cat, or just the exhaust being too large (2.5") doing the buzzing... I was thinking about having a cat installed, to see if that helped... I guess ideally, it needs 2" instead of 2.5" but damn the exhaust is new and nice and it hurts to think of pouring more money into the car right now.

how far back does the tip stick out from the pictures it looks like a couple inches off of the bumper

That is what mine was doing that annoying drone/buzz at road speed or steady speed .

Recap.. I went to 2-1/4" pipe all the way back , no Cat and the NOW famous muffler :lol:

I had the longest resonator installed today , 100% better .
Resonator was installed right behind where the cat used to be ,
I also found out today, that Festiva's had a resonator installed from the factory , behind the cat .

(Chris.. the exhaust tip on mine is almost flush with the bumper's outside edge .

(Andy).. I asked the same question about the size , he said the bigger the pipe , the quieter it should be , and with no cat , yes that will make it louder ..

As for the money , I have almost as much in my exhaust , as I paid for the car now ..experimenting to get it right and make the NOW famous muffler work :lol: :lol:

Here is a video of yesterday , going to work , so you can compare noise levels . I will try to do one of the new later today .

Great job! To keep it looking good, pull it back off and spray some ceramic-added exhaust paint on it. Three bucks for a rattle can from any parts store will be a good investment.
