Well at least it's a korean hatchback like a festiva. I have always noticed those. Thought they look cool. Update us with fuel economy and any other interesting specs. I found one with 137,000 miles on it on ebay. When I want to find out how many miles a car might get I look on ebay for that model under the cars and trucks category, then I sort by mileage highest. That lets you see what kind of miles other people have gotten.

I get about 38 mpg, the only bad thing about these cars is the timing belt needs to be changed about every 30 to 50,000 miles, im still trying to figure out why the belt goes bad in these cars so quickly, they have a no tolerence engine in them which means if the belt breaks it will bend the valves. Its the same motor and tranny setup as the Chevy Aveo i have.

My grandpa had an Aveo for a while. It was a surprisingly nicely put-together car. I hope you find the same to be true for your Lanos.

Yeah that's funnny. It used to be the metro and swift were made by suzuki. Now the aveo and aerio are made by daewoo. Apparently Chevy "saved" Daewoo.

My sister has had her daewoo since new, and it has been a pretty good car, other than all the parts are non exsistent other than through a dealership.

thats a nice looking car, ive only seen one in person. i thought the console gearshift piece that runs up between the seats might fit in the festiva from a pic i saw of one. but the guy wouldnt measure it for me..haha

ive read some horror stories about getting parts for them even from a dealer. they order and you wait and wait till your hair turns grey or you sell it is as is. ive seen quite a few woos of different models on ebay for very low prices. i guess thats why.

wonder if the aveo is the same way in regards to timing belts or did they fix that problem on that model?

You can buy parts for an Aveo and they will fit a Woo.
The Aveo's are the same way as far as i no.

I saw one of those daewoo's at a local junkyard and was very impressed, my friend told me about how the belts go every 50k miles and that daewoo is no longer a company and you can only really order parts from cali now. I would love to have one someday for a daily driver.

Well I'm just gonna say it. I will never buy a car that comes with a "buy 1 get one free" slogan. Dam what happened to Daewoo. They cam to the US for a minute.

Thats how i got mine, i bought the '01 and got a '99 Lanos for parts, i stripped it completley down. Mine has 54,000 miles on it, and i changed the timing belt this past weekend, and it had already been changed once.
