  • Photo editing pictures

As some of you know, i have recently been very interested in graphics design and photo editing.
I am currently looking into enrolling in a course at my local TAFE.
I did a few pictures last week, mainly my new sig, and avatar.
I also have done a few screen savers and the like, but at the moment- all i am using is MS paint.

I really enjoy doing this sort of stuff. I wonder what it would pay to do it proffesionally? And if it would be an okay job? Does anyone do this sort of stuff for a living?

I am with you on the picture taking and editing stuff...I wish it was feasible for me to take some classes for it. Maybe in the future. As far as for a job...how fun would that be , getting paid to take pictures and work on a computer doing graphic design...I would love it. Good luck if thats the way you are going to go.

im majoring in it. professional photo editing is 80$ an hour starting. i do logo design and retouching on the side for 30$ an hour since i am not a professional yet. it is one of the fastest growing fields today. its real competitive too. if you cant do it fast you might as well not do it all. im not trying to discourage you but it sucks staring at a computer screen for 6 hours at a time. just like with anything you like if you start getting paid for it, you dont like it as much as you used too.

Forced!!! I wonder if it's obvious enough for people to notice? I'd like to add it 'somewhere' on the car....

Dude if all yur using is mspaint you got talent. The blue oval saying "forced" is really nice. Im going to school right now for that kinda stuff and ive been heavy into photoshop for the past 2 years. As seniorsteele said, it pays well if your good. Im learning more of the 3d modeling side of it and starting pay is like $30K+ a year for entry level position. Ive made a few logo's for some local family owned shops for $150 a logo which only took about 3 hours for me to make. If I were you I would keep at it, its a really fun field to be in.

Yeah, it IS really fun. I had a mate from another forum drop into my place today, and i edited an avatar, and a sig for him. I really get a kick out of seeing the results!! Now all i have to do is find someone to pay me 10k per week!!! JK though THAT would be cool!
                          Pictures coming, no INTANETZ!!

That first one is small for use as an avatar, and the last is half the size shown, for use as a sig.
