  • My First AutoX Event

We're ready to race... except we're about 12 hours too early (and my friends helmet was about 10 years too old to pass tech inspection)...

Night shot in a parking garage - it's really dirty from the tranmission swap

    Ready for tech inspection!

    A plug for the website!

As I said... this was my first autoX event... We had 6 runs at the track, I DNF'ed 4 of them for missing cones (I saw where I needed to go, my brain just didn't register it by the time I needed to be there) - Anyways, my times were pretty consistent with other runners and for being a first timer, I felt pretty good with myself and the car.

I could tell the clutch was slipping a bit (still not fully adjusuted 100%) and that once that is fixed, it'll be easier to get on it and get moving!

Times aren't posted on the website yet, but I believe my best was a 0:46.5xx... There were some really, really quick cars there. I believe the best I saw come in was someone with a 0:39.4xx in a little hatchback Civic running 4 slicks. There was a really good turnout for the event and I can't wait for the next one on October 7th!

Videos to come shortly... I need to convert them from the mini-disc.

Clean that car boy! You got 12 hours before the race and you're trying on helmets.

Take it back to the back porch, join the 3 string revolution.

I attempted to do a quick clean on it, but I think I need a good degreaser to get that gunk off...

My thoughts are... the bumper and hood will soon be replaced with my kit pieces, so should I really worry about it right now?

A built BP mated to a stock Festiva tranny (for now)... BP has exhintake swap, Toda adjustable cam gears, UR Crank pulley, 2 1/4 Custom Exhaust, Pacesetter header, Walbro 255 fuel pump... The engine is built with Wiseco 10.5 to 1 (K590M84) pistons, lots of machine work as well (Bored 40 over, headwork, crank turning and balancing. FW lightening and machined for the Swift clutch.)... Running FMS lowering springs, Billstein front strut, KYB supers rear, Aspire brakes...

Soon to be toting a full ATH style kit, GTX fiberglass hood... And shortly (at some point) I have a G25MR transmission to drop in as well!

Sorry if this is a burnt out question, but why do you have this, and no longer the original pmptva? Looks great.

                  You addicted?

Kev - I sold the original Pimptiva because I was tired of it... I had blown the B6 that was in it, the B6T was beyond my abilities (even though I had parted together an engine, tranny, all the pieces and then sold it at a 75% loss)... It had some paint cracks in the kit, the quarter, needed cowl work done from not locking my hoodpins, etc...

I bought the car I'm running now because DJ had passed away (RIP bud) and I heard that Inga was looking to sell it... I knew then it was my chance to get into it one last time and create something that was nice AND fast... I flew out to Texas and towed it back...

After this one? I'm done, for good... If I decide to sell it, I want to be banned from the site so that I don't have a chance for another....

(BTW - I've been around the cars since I was 4... my dad had one new when they were out in 88 - the beautiful blue color)
