  • Holy Crow, I think these are the Original Spark Plugs

Well my festy was kinda hesitating and since I haven't really done anything to it yet I thought I had better check the plugs. Wow is all I could say, I am amazed it was still running. They are even motocraft plugs and I wouldn't doubt originals, 250+ kms on the car... here are some pics...

What do you all think was I do for some new plugs? Oh ya I put in bosch platinums and my hesitation is gone...

The business ends don't look too bad - just need to be cleaned and gapped, but you really ought to replace that valve cover gasket :-)

all the bosch platinum plugs are crap, especially the 2's and 4's. i've see too many fail within 10K or be bad out of the box. plus they don't seem to perform as well as a good copper core plug (champ, AC delco, bosch standard, etc.)

At Ohiostiva, Jim DeAngelis was talking about plugs and I asked him what a good plug for a B6 would be. He felt like Festyboy, that the Bosch plats were not any good, especially the more expensive (fancier) ones. He said the basic Bosch Plats should be okay (that's what I'm using now), but that regular copper core plugs would work best on the regular B series engines.

I would change them...the insulators may be cracked.
