  • I strongly dislike winter.

Yup, it's -20c, and I'm cranky, but I did go out and take a few pictures today. I didn't really go out to take pictures, I was on my way to the local diner for my Sunday morning steak and eggs. Mmmm!!!

The first 3 pics are of snow being weird.

And the last two of are my sad little car, waiting for a warm day. (those Falkens are as hard as hockey pucks right now)

What do you have in your atmosphere , that makes that snow stay together and peel off like that

We was covered in ice yesterday , wrecks all over .
Last night it was 50 ..this morning it was sunny and 63
Now 5 hours later it is 31

It is going to be a weird winter

It's a combination of the type of snow crystals, combined with extremely low humidity and wide temperature fluctuations. We might have a day where it's -20c overnight, then the temperature will jump to just below freezing for a couple of hours in the afternoon. The outside layer of snow will get 'wet' and soften up, while the core stays solid. The part against the fence stays cold, too. If you look at the one on the left, you can see that it's strong enough to have pulled a knot right out of the fenceboard.

Neat pics! I've never seen anything like that. I can confirm that winter sucks... Next time I move it's going to be south.

It looks like that snow was blown there by a snow blower. Neat pics regardless of how the snow got there.

Go to Canadian Tire and get Nordics. I put 2 on the front of my festy and nothing is stopping me I have been blasting through lots of snow. We have had snow for a while now too... more expected in the next day or 2.

This is from about 2 weeks ago, we have at least twice that much snow now.
