  • Australian Wrecker / JunkYard Thread

Over the next few months, i'll try and get to as many 'junkyards; as I can to help u guys in the neverending search for '121' parts. I can post what I find, or buy .... and if u guys are interested we can do some deals. Otherwise if i dont want bits, I'll try selling em on ebay.

Todays visit was to a local wrecker near where I work.
If you're disappointed at the pics, so am i!

Front End was stripped --- probably badly damaged from the accident it was in. The left headlight that remains is no good --- were a few bad scratches on the main headlight face, and the mounting points at the back plastic housing were all snapped off. Bugs were now calling the headlight home.

Most / all of the windows were missing so Mother Natures helped had destroyed a lot of the interior --- moss was growing ont he floor. lol On the upside most of the dash was still in-tact but very faded. Clock was in place, as well as Tacho Cluster. What are the odds of these very important items still working after sitting in the sun and rain for who knows how many years? I might go back for the Cluster and clock --- but i doubt theyd work. They also had 1 of the rear side glass pieces with 'SHADES' logos all over it (a special model we had in Australia that came with Aircon).

Anyway. Thats about all i can tell you. Even if it was a disappointing visit on my lunchbreak, I found it exciting that there was in fact an old 121 there, but no Festivas !

Boot Retainer? Which part is that...

Do you think the Speedo/Tacho cluster will still work if I bought it ? Or would it be waterlogged and now faulty? (Glovebox was like a small swimming pool).

If you can get it for a few bucks or quid, whatever you have in Australia, I think it would be worth the gamble to see if it works.

The boot retainer screws in the underneath side of the console and secure the shifter boot to the console bottom left of first picture.

Also would it happen to have either of the parts below An under the seat tray of the frt fender side marker lights ?? In dash bin ?

You could sell the cargo hardware too, real light and would cost much to ship.
