  • New Tires

I bought some 195/45R14 Toyo T1R's on the weekend and put them on a set of stock SwiftGT rims. Here are before and after shots:

This is pretty much the only mod I've made besides a larger muffler and it made a huge difference in the handling. No more tire squeal. I was surprised also at how soft the ride is, not a whole lot different from the stock tires. The rubber is very very soft; I can push in the tread with my finger, yet the tread wear rating is pretty high, something like 280. Here is some more info for those interested: http://www.toyo.com.au/proxes%20t1-R%20page.htm

As you can see, I need to make some hubcaps. The Suzuki ones don't quite fit in the front and definately don't fit in the rear.

^ I guess it's different for Canada because every Swift GT I've seen has had those wheels.

I agree with strat - It's amazing to see what a set of wheels does to the car.

As far as I know, they are standard for Swift GT's, so maybe it is different in Canada as B6T said. I got them from my brother, who's a Swift fanatic. He was using them as winter rims, so they still need a little cleaning up.

And yes, they are the 4x114.3 bolt pattern.

I also got a set of swift disc brakes that I plan to put on, and I got some Swift seats too. I could almost make a Swift/Festiva hybrid. I think my brother has a spare motor.

Don't worry guys, I'm close enough that I can go over to his house and slap some sense into him.

A Suzuki engine... how do you sleep at night!

Sorry, I'm not that religious about auto companies. The point is that there is a Swift GT motor sitting in my brother's garage that could be stored under my hood instead. 100hp, all aluminum, etc. If I had my way, I would go for a Carnot engine

                      $69 seems like a steal. I couldn't find them at onlinetires. They don't list the 14" T1R?

How is the ride on those? Just curious as to how they compare to the T1R.
