So I was driving down the road the other day and got to close to the side and hit the snow...started getting sucked towards the ditch...I was fighting to get back on the road when one of those rubbermaid mailboxes jumped out in front of me. I smashed throught that thing like it was not even there but managed to get back on the road. I thought my front passenger side was wasted for sure, plus it was really hard to turn the steering wheel and there was scrapping noises....man! I turned down a side street and pulled over to access the damage. As I got out all I heard was sizzling and steam coming out from under the hood. As I walked around the front I noticed that instead of a smashed front end....all I had was a broken headlight.
I still heard the sizzling though...so I popped the hood to find that the whole engine compartment was packed with snow from the middle of the car to the inner passenger fender. It was packed all the way to the underside of the hood like I was trying to fill it in for shipping. I started digging and poking at the snow and managed to get most of it out of there...then I looked at the wheel and noticed that the reason it was hard to turn was that the wheel well was also packed with snow too.
I recently purchased some headlights from rolla4me because my old ones were all brown and rusty inside...so instead of waiting for better weather I was forced to change them now. Man what a differance in brightness....he even included fairly new looking bulbs. I think I got a great deal for 35 bucks! And I think that I am very lucky that there was no other damage to my car , not even any new scratches. All in all I think it turned out ok.
