My number is reserved in my club, and I race in a small class, so the odds of another 42 in DM or EP in the other clubs I run is VERY small. If I have to, I can add a magnetic 1 and make it 142...
I just got tired of my wimpy little magnetic numbers... they looked so..... well wimpy!
42 is the answer to life, the universe, and everything. Don't Panic!

I am sure you would kick my butt... but, I AM taking both phases of the Evolution Performance Driving school next weekend.
Do you guys watch Setup? Mike Jr. Johnson is instructing, and several other national champion autocrossers, including the Corvette god, Danny Popp.
My SCCA region is hosting, and I am organizing and attending it. It is supposed to be a huge help for rookies like me...
The little guy is handling better than ever with the latest suspension set up too..
Nope, I was looking at that a few minutes ago, when I was out cleaning my workbench. I was saving it for when I had my headwork done, and the race cam installed...
Besides, to be honest, I am not sure exactly what benefit the gear would make for me at the moment, I don't think I am good enough degreeing cams to take advantage of it. Are you using yours? What degree are you using and what is your reasoning? I need to learn a little more about how this little engine wants to breathe... any hints???
to be honest, you have a few years of SCCA on me and a better prepared car so i doubt i would be doing any kicking of the butt, but it would be fun...
i also havn't installed mine as i need to tear down the block (again) cyl. 2 is down 30 psi on a compression test (not good) i also need to aquire another cam....
the chosen degree will depend on your cam profile and head port flow. as it sits, is there an RPM range that the engine prefers? and does that RPM range fall into the most used gears while racing? general hint here is if your engine likes the bottom end of things but you find that you're running mid to high rpms in a spicific gear, retard the cam (this will force the power band to move up in the RPM range provided the intake and carb can support it) likewise, if you're engine is peaky but you find yourself having to upshift to the next gear and falling out of the RPM range your engine likes to run in, advance the cam and force the power band to move lower in the RPM range.
NOTE: this is a general guide based on comon trends of engine tuning
Trees aren't kind to me...
currently: 2 88Ls (Scrappy and Jersey), 88LX, 90L(Pepe), 91L, 91GL (Skippy) 93 GL Sport (the Mighty Favakk), 94 (Bruce) & 95 Aspire SEs, 97 Aspire (The Joker),
94 Justy 4WD, 87 Fiero GT, plus 2 parts cars. That's my fleet.
Ah, OK.. that makes sense.. I know that with two cams, the overlap comes into play, but I couldn't really see the benefit of using it on one cam... now I do. What I will probably do is get my headwork done, get my cam in, and see what's what. What I really want to do is build the little engine for revs. I find in Autocross, the ability to rev high is a definite advantage, to help you keep it in second, instead of wasting time going to and from 3rd..
And oh, I just started with the SCCA last year... about mid-way through the season... :-)
