Shot some color today!

Painted the back of the hood and the back of the fenders today. This let me get the feel for painting since it is my 1st car. In a few days I will flip over the hood and then paint the rest of the car. Everything else will be painted at one time this weekend. The color is Jazz Blue from a VW GTI. My camera sucks, the hood came out really nice and the clear is very shiny.

I found on a miata site it while searching for stripe designs. The guy had a VW pictured with this color. Originally I wanted to do stripes on my festiva and a different blue but really liked this. A nice set a aluminum wheels and tinted windows will make it look great.

Yes it is a base coat/clear coat. I used Dupont Nason. Very little orange peel, nothing that won't come out when I wet sand and buff. If it was a daily driver i wouldn't even touch it since it came out so nice.

I used a Sata HVLP gun. Its not mine, I borrowed it for the job. Very nice gun compared to the regular gun I used for all the primers.

Well since I have wheels now I 'll be getting it rolling in the next few days and when the weather turns nicer I'll pull it outside and take some pics. Still got a month or so till its done.
