  • 88LX Blue Festiva B6 Carb project

Hi guys, probably you know about the 88 Festiva was once time from TIM in Washington state of USA and he sold to me long awhile ago and I have not use that blue Festiva for almost 1 year due lot work to do on it...
So few week ago I have decided to start the project on this car and it going to be custom 1.6L B6 8 Valve SOHC engine with carb unit.

It really took long time to rebuild B6 engine and getting right parts to put in it.. that block B6 engine was from 323 Mazda and it did have 300,000 miles on it but surprise is that B6 block don't show any wears out... but it have heavy carbon deposits on it and I have to clean out with wire brush and volcano acid cleaner(It works very wonderful and gives off nice shinny alum)

It's getting almost done and I am really excited to get back on road sometime soon and some extra power. I will add more pictures later!

Was that a stock B3 carb? If so, what did you do about the jets and bore? If not, what the hell is it and were did you get it? Very cool to see a Carbed Festy w/ cohonas.
              Going old school...

Where did you purchase the Volcano Red? Never heard of it....looks like it really works well.

The Volcano Red was made by under Maximus Detailing Products, I believe you can get 5 gallon jug or 1-2 litter jug and I think you can order it online.

I just got it them from my work place hehe.

I would recommend you use volcano red and water spray bottle ready so you can brush it to remove the oil and spray down with clean water. Don't leave acid on any alum too long which it cause to look like grey dull color.

                            Update:

Almost done! Only odd problem with fuel pump which I got it brand new and it failing after driving test for 40 miles on it! It start leaking out the bottom metal cap ring

But yet Isn't look beautiful B6 Carb?

^It look like a new engine!

                            ^A K&N air filter

^Air vacuum for EGR is disabled...

^ That is the reason EGR won't work on B6 head engine unless you do the custom re-route it.
