  • My older bros 48 willys

My brother has had a 1948 willys sitting in the barn for 25 years. Last winter he pulled it out and started working on it. Today he drove it down to the house. It too cool !!

Does he have enough taillight? I am sure he could get a couple more on the back. I take it one is the old 6 volt and he doesn't use it, one is the actual brakes, and the other is the turn signal?

Looks great!! Looks like it is a fun project!

carbonvmax, its a 72 suzuki lj20 (brute) they also had lj10s (air cooled) and also a 4 cylinder model.

definatly those old willys weren`t built for speed, but they sure had some awesome power for a 4 cylinder, great gearing.

my dad got one of those suzuki jeeps a few years back from a junkyard. no motor but everything else was there. ended up sitting at our house for a good 10 years until we drug it out and worked on it. ended up putting a wiscounsin engine in it and making somewhat of a diamond plate body on it. plus it has festiva seats and a propane tank made into a gas tank. i'll have to get some more pictures of it but i did find this one. it probably only does about 15 mph but it is a blast to just cruise around on.

^ Yeah ... you cant throw a dead cat around here without hitting a festiva. Ive said it before but the Old Grey Mare (partiva) will be gone soon. Then Ill be low on festivas. It will be smashed by a skid loader. Ill miss it, it has put many a festiva back on the road. Every part had been removed. Every nut bolt and screw. Not one tiny little piece of hardware anywhere. Stipped to the bone. Nothing but a shell.

austyfrosty those festiva seats look like they are in decent condition. Cool machine !!
