LOL I love it!The sad part is it only took $4.00 a gallon gas to tank SUV sales. And as usual US automakers were left scratching their heads and with no REAL solutions to recover the dramatic sales dropoff. The same sort of problem they had when their quality was soo horrendous and the Japanese automakers were putting out better fit and finish, better running cars. Lets just hope it doesnt take them as long to fix their problem this time as it did that time.Search Master - Honorary Member of Midwest Festiva Inc., Gulf Coast Chapter

What's NOT funny is that $5 Gas is starting to show up in many places. Makes me glad I have a Festiva.

The "big three" are generally too short sighted, and even this isn't completely their fault. Share holders want $$$ and the quick way to $$$ was SUV and truck sales.
But, that being said, they didn't have a backup plan.
This isn't the first time they were could with large vehicals and had the market switch rapidly to wanting smaller more fuel efficent cars.
Look what happened in '72.
They apprently didn't learn anything from it!
Wonder what their profits were for say '72-1980?'93 Blue 5spd 230K(down for clutch and overall maintanence)
