  • From Wyoming to Kananaskis and beyond...

Well, I just got back from my first ever Festiva meet and a nice vacation in Canada. I enjoyed getting to meet Ian (and family), Scott, Erin, and Jim. I wasn't sure what to expect camping with Ian and his family. It turned out to be a real great time and I wish we could've spent some more time together. Here's just a few of the pictures I took along the way. And a little of the story for extra.

When you cross the border and they ask you questions what do you say? I was asked if I was going to be meeting anyone. Yes. Who? Ian, I don't know his last name. They gave me a funny look. I guess I could've said I'm going to meet Fastivaca, Leapin', and MonkeyRacing, and we're going to talk about Festivas. When I arrived at the campground to check in I told them I was sharing site C-11 with another person. They asked for his last name to which I replied with I don't know, he's Ian. The gal gave me a funny look but took my money for the extra tent and told me how to get to the sight.

Well enough of that, you want to see pictures. Well here they are. The first was taken on Friday heading to the campground.

Here's Wedge Pond the day before the meet.

Afterwards my daughter and I spent a few days up in Jasper. We've never been there before and it was great. We stayed at a nice campground near Jasper and were visited by several elk the first night. We were able to take the Jasper tramway up the Whistlers and went on and hiked the rest of the way to the summit. What a view! Anyways, here's some more scenery.

Well, since I can't upload all 288 pictures I took then I guess I'll call it good.

            Nice pics, Jeff!

When you cross borders, tell the nosy guards it's "none of their business." That makes their job a lot easier!
