  • My Low Km Festie

Howdy, Howdy. My name is Ron i'm from Nanaimo BC Canada eh. Picked up this little beaut a month ago off a co-worker. It was his aunts since new and she was/is old and didn't drive it much. In almost 20 years she's seen only 73000kms! It sat most of it's life outside which explains most of the paint fade and why I repainted the bumpers. Got it for a very fair price. Mechanically I needed to replace an axle and wheel bearing. Other than that, I'm lettin my g/f use it to commute to school so she begged me to either paint the rusty wheels or get hubcaps. Opted out for the latter cause they only cost me 20 bucks since I work for an auto parts distributor. Other than that she's pretty mint. Most of the 60 horsies are workin great after a quick tank mixed with mohawk fuel and lucas fuel treatment to get that thick layer of carbon out. Hope to, after my girlies done with it, to put a BP in it seems like a pretty easy swap to double the ponys. Other than that she's a good stocker commutin machine.

    Thanks for lookin.

Have you considered using seafoam on the engine? I think GM also sells a similar product called Cleenz.... Both are a carbon deposit remover. I used both products with great results.

And a little rubbing compound would do wonders for that paint.

The Mohawk fuel has a high ethanol content and higher octane rating. That along with Lucas fuel treatment seemed to help quite a bit. We do sell cleenz at my work, I was considering using it. My girlfriend is bringing it back home this weekend from school and I think I'm gonna try the cleenz. A few mechanics up here swear by it. With the seafoam, where can you get it NAPA?? I get a few people askin for it at my work but we can't carry it for some reason.

Thanks, I considered it. But it looks like someone did a maaco cheap paint job and ALL the clearcoat just faded away. If anything my girlfriends stepdad is a paint and body man and he said he'd spray it for us.

Very nice find....pretty clean. Looks like an original color and not a maaco job. With that low of miles I don't see someone repainting it....could be wrong though.Try NU Finish on it. That stuff works wonders with hazed paint. Rub it on let it dry...rub it off. World of differance when I do my car.

                          Added some things

Came back to the chilliwack on vacation for a couple weeks. Got to do some minor tweeks on my car. G/f has grown to love it (knew she would). She whined about the fuel economy, but after I got her to write down the kms per tank she realized she was just driving that far. Went to the local pick-a-part and snagged a dome (w/maps) light from an escort.

Also added Kenwood deck plus kenwood 4"s in the front.

Managed to squeeze 4x6"s in the stock back positions too without difficulty.

the way you mounted the back speaker look like you might get some rattle from it. hope not though, no one likes a rattle! bet it sounds gooood compareed to the stock paper speakers.

No rattle, nice and tight. And one hell of a difference from stock. Even more so since it didn't come with rears. I love that one chassis harness was all they needed when they made these cars. The wires for the rear speakers were just taped off and tucked away.
