It was really convenient that the little wall was there because we have groundhogs in our neighborhood. They will just dig right under a fence like that. With the fence right up on the wall they can't. They got under it once so I parked mowers and tires up against it to keep them out.

When I was a kid we ALWAYS had a 1 1/2 acre garden beside the house and a 3 acre garden out back. I HATED working in them. Now i've grown up a little i kinda miss the fresh veggies, fried squash, homemade pickles, home made sunflower seeds, banana peppers, okra, pickled green tomatoes(AKA chow-chow), watermelon, fried green tomatoes, sweet corn, whatever-fruit-we-wanted cobbler, greens...Sorry showing my "unsophistacated" southern side.

Well, I must say, that you were gifted with a green thumb then;-) It's always nice when we bear the fruit of our labor, and you get to enjoy the fruit. If you weren't so far off my route to NY I would stop by to check out the garden and festiva in mid August.90 Festiva with Brand new B3, 5spd
