  • Our Festiva is back on the road.

Well our festiva finally made it out of the work shop. (only took all summer)

It received a complete aspire brake swap and swap bar. Additionally all front bushings were replaced with Energy Suspension bushings.

It has new 14x6 wheels with 185/60/14 tires.

The intent was to also swap a 5 speed in, but the 5 speed ended up making noise so the 4 speed was put back in.

Here's a pic of it in the drive way...... night pictures help hide some of the rust.....

I dislike black cars myself, but your rims look nice with the dark paint in the fading light.

Looks great! Are you having any issues with that size tire?

Some minor issues with the larger tire.... mostly from the soft stock rear springs.... currently have some spring spacers in, but will eventually put together some coil overs with stiffer springs and probably put in bump stops to eliminate contact.

When you get your suspension probs fixed, let me know what all you did. I'm running 195/60/14's. I'm loaded up on spring spacers to stop the rub. By the way, sharp looking Festy!

I used to work in an ABRA body shop, and had to prep the cars just before they were scheduled to come pick them up after being repaired. I would spend an hour detailing a black car and then park it in the lot. If the customer didn't show up on time, I would have to detail the car again because you could see the dust on the car already. Black is the hardest color to keep looking nice. Don't get me wrong, for the 5 minutes after you detail a black car they look super sharp, but after that it's all downhill. That's why I strongly dislike black...all that torture I had to endure heheheheh.

Its not the typical gloss black.... Black Festivas are more of a Dark metallic grey.
