  • The Girl

Here's a pic of the new girl. she's a 93 L with 139,000km's on her. downfall is she is an auto. but that can change with time. the rad fan didn't work and the tape deck wouldn't turn on and the light didn't work. pulled all the fuses and they looked ok. got the test light out and checked some wires and I had no power. turns out I wasn't paying attention and the fuses for those items were just missing all together.

it has a really bad running issue when it's cold it has a bad hesitation till it gets going. tossed a different airflow meter on it and made a bit of a difference. think it might just need a cap rotor plugs and wires.(I hope). came with the cubby hole centre councel. seems to be rust free crawled all around and can't find any rust anywhere. so I'm happy. started by ripping the tint off the back 2 side windows today. yanked the 2 front speakers out and the old panasonic deck. and started running new wires for the cd player and fancy 4 speaker setup.

what kinda plugs are you guys running? this has some v-grooves in it but I've never ran them before.

looks good bro, nice and clean. reminds me of when I got my first one back in the day, it was red also, and looked very similar to yours, but I didn't have a passenger side mirror lol
    No festiva for me ATM...

plan is to get the running issue sorted out. cd player and speakers sorted. then the plastic panels are coming out and I'll be redoing all the plastic in black with sem product. then hopefully I'll be tinting the windows again with some quality tint.

I'll keep the pics coming. favorite part of this site is the pics.

I emailed fms anybody know if there still selling body kits?

WOW! Excellent find! Is it normal to find a car that old rust free in sask? Here you wont find one without holes in the body!

Everyone seems to recommend NKG V-Powers for plugs.

Call FMS, they dont answer emails that much.

new plugs wires cap and rotor and she still wants to die on me and when it's in gear it's like it loses a cyl. right away until you get into it.

well $50 later and here's the stereo setup sounds better then 2 blown stockers. can't find a good dash kit to mount the deck yet.

drained my tranny fluid twice tonight cause this colour has me worried. what you think? I did it twice and it still comes out that colour.

as well my new makita 9227 showed up I started on the roof and got some of the oxidization off with a wool pad and some swirl remover to start off with. also picked up some 2500 grit paper to get some scratches out. sorry I didn't take pics of the roof but there's the rest of the car to do yet.

and some other pictures of whats hiding in the garage... my other red head. so far best of 11.9 with her.

and a buddy's 71 sprint with a 6.0L ls motor going with a carb setup.

                        welcome

I think its time for the first ever(well, I don't think anyone else has done this) festiva srt-4!

Also, I want to see if I am understanding the sprint project correctly: your taking a mopar muscle car, dropping in a fairly new gm engine and converting the engine from efi to carb
is that right? if so it is definitely gonna be unique

Going quickly in a slow car is more fun than going fast in a fast car, cause anyone can go fast in a fast car, but you take a car that is essentially not that powerful, and make it do things that its not supposed to be able to do, well that's where the real fun is. - Jay Leno

yeah it's newer tech. in older car. edelbrock makes a intake manifold for the carb conversion with a msd box to control the coils. guys make around 500hp on that combo. depending cam and heads.

a srt4 just went for 1500 at the local insurance auction. would love to do a rear engine srt drivetrain festy.

Hey TrueBoolean, the Sprint is a GMC version of the Chevy El Camino...but you're right..very cool build! Very nice festy too, I hope you get the running issue straight.
