  • Meet Bonnie Blue!

Meet my newest Festy! It's a 1991 Blue GL 5-speed...with a factory cargo cover, map pocket door panels and the nicer GL "stripey" seats. I was taking my nephews to a Fall Fest at their church when my Festiva Senses started tingling...I looked around and saw an old decrepit looking auto repair shop...I slowed down a bit and saw a forlorn-looking Festy, begging to breath free! I wrote down the number of the place and called Monday. I was told that the car was for sale, as the owner had had a stroke and was not going to need a car...sad as that is, I went down to look at it that afternoon. The guy told me to make an offer...I asked to sleep on it and called with an offer of $300 this morning...the guy countered with a price of $500. We met in the middle at $400 and Bonnie Blue was free! I towed her home this evening, so I only have the few pics I took with my phone, with more to come.

Congrats! I checked out a Red GL today but it's not for sale, the people who own it are the original owners!

Nice, and for a measly 400 bones. Not bad at all.

The AC is disconnected as of now, but I hope it is repairable...my wife must think I am nuts, but I just can't stand to see one of these great little cars wasting away in what amounted to a junkyard...also has a functional rear window wiper, something I've never had on a Festy!

Thanks to all....it has 152,000 miles on it and it does run, but will not run to idle....it cuts off when I let off the gas. It has a case of the ants right now having sat for some time, but that shouldn't be a problem...the interior will need a good bit of cleaning. I will likely be taking the center console....it bangs my shin!

I had a bit of deja-vu for a second... A good friend of mine has a 65 Mustang convertible named Bonnie Blue, that's been talking about selling for a few days now.
