  • Paydirt@ Pick & Pull

Hawgkeeper called me yesterday, he had been on a scouting mission into the local Pick and Pull. He reported seeing a 1988 LX fully loaded. We agree to rendezvous at O nine hundred the following morning ( Opening time of P & P) to investigate futher. We hit paydirt !! Hawgkeeper got a full console with boot and retainer for free. He also got a hood to replace the one he damaged from hitting a deer and four Sentra wheel with the same bolt pattern as a festiva. He also got the manual seat belts, he isnt a fan of the auto belts. I got a cargo light latch, tilt steering column, upper interior door trim, LX molding, cargo light w/o lense, full lock set, frt seats with head rest, split rear seat, map pockets, power mirror and switch, rear defog switch, full cargo cover hard ware, underseat tray rails, etc. One fine haul !!!

Waiting for the doors to open

I keep the camera in the Crown Royal bag. The two people are suspects responsible for the early retirement of the festiva. At age 17( on back of pic) they are younger than the car. Festy only had 140,000 on it, should still be on the road. Someone had removed the tranny but left the goodies.

Man, I am so jealous! I wish I had a self-services yard near me. The closest one I know of is 356 miles away. My wife would probably not like having one nearby though because I would be there all the time. Good job on the parts score.

I think you'd better check for 'love stains' on those seats, then....

nice! you scored. that chick is actually pretty hot...haha. i bet homeboy was driving that thing. its so fun going to the junkyard and imagining all the stories behind each vehicle.

and just as an fyi, you dont need the lock set if you buy a column. you can just use a dremel (or something similar) and slot the bolts and remove each ignition so you have the correct one on your car. i just did it myself and its super easy.

Nice haul. Around here, if there is a pick and pull, the only "festiva" in the place ends up being a Fiesta. Not exactly the same thing. Especially when you are there for a carb.
