  • Old Red got a stripe today!

Painted the stripe on today right after I got home from school, I'm happy with the way it turned out The rear bumper is done now. Sorry that the pics aren't the best quality but it was starting to get dark.

Old Red is looking great! Once the front bumper is done it will look like new. You have certainly taken that car a long way from what it looked like a couple of months ago.
    Keep it up!

Thanks! I can't wait to see it with the front bumper done, LX side moldings with the stripes painted on, and LX power mirrors, the wheels are also going to be painted semi-gloss black with trim rings

sorry didn't take any pics during the process, only pics I have are of the stripe masked off. All I did was clean it with Klean-Strip brand Auto Prep then paint a couple coats of Satin Black, then masked off the stripes and painted them.

I put a red stripe on some bumpers by using some vinyl adhesive and some 1/4 inch pin striping. It still looks good after several years and numerous car washings.

The red on my bumpers is pinstriping ... but i have NO IDEA where i can find more red vinul pinstriping locally! Majority of auto shops dont sell it --- i probably should try an auto paint shop?

Looks totally awesome it is amazing what a little hard work and dedication will do. Keep up the good work. Was going to use plastic dye on mine but it got cold before I had a chance to do them.
What did you do to prep the bumper? Did it require any sanding? Has anyone else painted bumpers?
