I picked up a B6 SOHC engine today and see several things that will need addressing. If youve done a B6 SOHC swap and have a picture of your engine bay could you please post it here. Id like to see how others have handled things like rerouting the throttle cable, MAF ducting, exhaust connection, etc. Thanks !!

the engine was easy to install, and i have a/c and ps. the battery i moved to the rear because of the maf and air flilter, i had to trace back the maf wired but unwrapping the harness and taking it out, not cutting the wires. the exhaust is the headers that i got from groharlem. and i don't think we did anything special with the throttle cable.

^ Nice ! Looks like you just kept curling the throttle cable on around so it ended up pointing towards the left side of the car. Thats what I was thinking. Id like to keep my MAF and battery where they are. Might have to make some custom duct work. Maybe a couple of 90s and come back over the intake ( which is several inches lower than the festiva intake ) and connect back into the original duct over the valve cover. Does your header outlet point straight down ? Thanks for the pic !!sigpic

I like whoreing out the pics cause this thing is awesome to drive now. and I think this motor should of came in these cars. if you have any questions fell free to p.m. took me about 2 full days in the end to get it all done. I'm still not happy with the finished result but -40 weather has slowed progress down.

Nice set Up jr.fester ! Where is your battery now ? What is the object in the top right hand corner of your third picture by the coil ? What hose did you use for the upper rad hose ? How do you modify the MAF housing for custom cone filter adapter ? Thanks for the Pics !!sigpic

it's just another airflow meter i was using when I was doing the intake mockup. i had the b6 and b3 one bouncing aorund. the battery is in the back. I just used the 323 battery tray screwed to the trunk floor for now till I get a battery box. for the airfilter it's just a cone adapter and filter I had laying aorund. there cheap on ebay. and for the upper rad hose I believe I just cut a few inches off each end of the the stock hose. it's a little big on the rad connection but a hoseclamp seems to seal it. I've logged over 3000km's on the swap already. and it's my main ride for work for now.93-1.6l
